Close up of image 'mrcgy692' showing the wide variety of the different railway company wagons that were typically to be found in a goods yard. Being pre-1923 the rolling stock is all pre-grouping when 123 railway companies were amalgamated into four companies. The vans at the back were owned by: Midland Railway (twice), Great Western Railway, North British Railway and the London Brighton and South Coast Railway. A London North Western Railway wagon covered by a tarpaulin is on the left next row forward whilst at the front a Great Northern Railway five-plank open wagon has timber stacked inside.
