LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Brighton Road Station: mrbr147
Looking from the down platform towards Camp Hill with the
main station building on the up platform on the right circa 1908. The station
was built on an embankment and,as was the policy with most railway companies in
the British Isles, the Midland Railway built their station - including
buildings - using timber. This material was obviously significantly lighter
than brick or stone and consequently would not require deep and expensive
foundations.
