Ex-MR 0-6-4T 'Flatiron' No 2027 is seen at the head of a
Birmingham New Street to Ashchurch train in 1933. The nickname 'Flatiron' was
given to the locomotive because its side tanks were thought to look like an old
fashioned iron. Built at Derby works in June 1907 No 2027 lasted in service
until withdrawn in March 1936 from Saltley shed to be scrapped very shortly
afterwards.
