LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Broom Junction station: mrbj148

Looking towards Evesham, with Broom Junction Signal Box and the junction, visible through the bridge

Looking towards Evesham, with Broom Junction Signal Box and the junction, visible through the bridge circa 1938. To the right of the signal is a Midland Railway's cast iron notice forbidding trespass on the railway, despite it being some seventeen years since the Midland Railway was absorbed in to the London Midland & Scottish Railway. This view clearly shows the steps leading up to the signal box's footwalk are offset to the door of the signal box as described in image .mrbj158a'. To the right of the bridge are gated steps leading up to the road which would have been used by staff from the station and signal box despite there not being a timber walkway or 'footbridge' over the signal rods running alongside the track.
