Ex-LMS 2-6-0 'Crab' No 42822 is seen coming off the single line as it passes the Signal Box on 10th May 1954. Built with Lentz Poppet valve gear at Horwich works in September 1929 No 42822 was to remain in service until June 1962 when it was withdrawn from '17B' Burton-on-Trent shed to be scrapped in June 1962 by Horwich works.
