View of the 1894 Barnt Green Single Line signal box which was sited on the same side as the up platform. The first signalbox controlling the junction was opened in 1883 when the line was single immediately from the Gloucester & Birmingham Railway main line. When the Redditch branch was doubled for 350 yards the signalbox needed to be moved nearer Redditch by 350 yards. The line was initially controlled by train staff and ticket between Barnt Green and Redditch but from 20th September 1891 electric train tablet working was adopted. This signalbox remained operational until 7th September.
