LMS Route: Birmingham West Suburban Railway

Restored LMS 4-4-0 4P Compound No 1000 is being turned on the turntable inside Bournville shed on 30th August 1959. The locomotive had been withdrawn from service in 1951 and after a number of years in stored it was returned to Derby for restoration in its 1914 condition. Its first trip was from New Street to York on 30th August 1959 and it seen here being prepared before it will run to Kings Norton carriage sidings to collect empty stock to take forward to New Street
