A fine view of Fowler 2P 4-4-0 No 517, standing with other engines in a siding near the coaling stage at Bournville, taken in June 1949. It was one of the two allocated to the shed at the time. Despite the new looking smokebox and being coaled up for further use, it was officially withdrawn later that month, and never carried its allocated British Railways number, 40517.
