Three-quarter view of Lifford Station Junction signal box on 3rd August 1969 shortly before it closed in September. The Midland Railway always off set the steps up to a cabin door so that it was impossible to trip when exiting the cabin. Most other railways such as the LNWR and GWR did not appear to adopt this safety precaution.
