LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Lifford Station Junction: mr_lif813

An unidentified ex-LMS 4-6-0 'Black 5' is seen coming off Lifford West Junction with empty stock from New Street station on 16th April 1955. The stock was being used for a special excursion organised by Trains Illustrated and as their passengers had been given one hour to tour New Street station the train was 'wasting' time before picking the passengers up. It had departed New Street taking the line to Camp Hill from where it ran to Lifford before transiting the curve to join (as seen above) the West Suburban line in order to return to New Street station.
