Although the canopy was one long structure there were in fact two buildings on each platform with a space occupied by bench seating in between the two buildings. The nearest building housed the gentlemen's toilets as is evident by the louvered ventilation unit on the roof. The second and larger building, which is located at the other end of the platform, provided accommodation for a general waiting, a ladies waiting room and a porters offices.
