View of Soho Soap Works Junction from a Stephenson Locomotive Society special on 30th May 1959. The signal cabin was named 'Soho Soap Works Junction' and was equipped with a forty-eight lever frame. The signal cabin closed on 8th January 1965. The SLS special was completing Part 1 of the tour having started at Birmingham New Street and then visiting Monument Lane, Harborne Junction, Harborne before returning to Harborne Junction in order to go back to Birmingham New Street via Monument Lane ready to commence the next phase of part one. This phase saw the two locomotives topping and tailing the special, No 58271 and No 58283, going forward to Proof House Junction followed by Aston, Perry Barr Station Junction, Soho East Junction before being seen above at Soho Soap works Junction. From here the special will finally complete part one by going forward to Galton Junction, Smethwick Junction, Old Hill, Halesowen, Longbridge, Kings Norton, Bordesley Junction, St Andrews Junction, Proof House Junction to finally arrive back at Birmingham New Street.
