Looking towards Perry Barr on 1st June 1962 from the site of the former station's island platform. The waiting rooms and other passenger facilities would have been located on the platform. However the booking office and station master's office were located in the three storey building at road level. Passengers descended from road level via a staircase which was located beneath the large top light window seen slightly off-centre at the top of the building above the station sign. The two doorways at the bottom of the structure were accessed by steps leading down from the platform. Despite the fact the station has not been used for more than twenty years there is no sign of vandalism. The down line to Perry Barr is on the left whilst the spur to Soho Pool and the up line to Soho East Junction is on the right.
