Close up of image 'lnwrs&l1323' showing the parachute water tank situated on the up line beyond the bridge and the sidings to the cement works on the right. The notices on the bridge abutment states 'Passengers must cross the line by the bridge'. Under the right hand notice a ground frame can be seen which would have controlled the points and signals to both station and sidings. The far LMS upper quadrant is a down signal which is in the 'off' position indicating that there is a down train approaching the station. The signal nearer to the camera is in the 'on' or danger position protecting the route forward to Napton and Stockton.

The wagons standing on the embankment in the distance were on property belonging to Southam Cement works. Access to these sidings was gained via the line disappearing to the right behind the bridge abutment. The pointwork shows that trains from Leamington would have proceeded beyond the down signal and then reversed back over the up line for a short distance before the trailing point directs the train across the down line in to the sidings. The short section of track beyond the points and running parallel with the line to Weeden was a short shunting spur used by locomotives during the shunting of wagons as well as providing protection to the branch line in case of runaway wagons.
