Ex-LNWR 2-4-2T No 6734 stands at the head of a local passenger service to Stafford on 4th June 1938. The locomotive was long lived because of the intervention of the Second World War which delayed the building of new designs and required existing locomotives to continue to carry out duties despite often being life expired. Number 6734 was a Precursor Tank design built by Crewe works to order number 3529 in May 1895 and was withdrawn in February 1946 from Hamilton shed to be scrapped in July 1946 by Crewe works.
