Close up of image 'lnwrrm742' showing the southern aspect of the approach to the station with the through lines on the left. Each end of the island platform station had a bay, with four tracks each, two serving platforms with the other two acting as storage sidings. The track sloping down on the extreme left bypassing the station is the avoiding line from Northampton. The second on the left which carries straight on is the down avoiding line from Euston whilst the track diverging allows trains to enter the down platform (left of the four arm signal). The bays, controlled by the four arm signal, were used by Northampton and Market Harborough trains.
