British Railways 4-6-2 Britannia Class No 70032 'Tennyson' stands alongside British Railways built Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T No 41211 in one of Rugby's north bays. Built by Crewe works in December 1952 No 70032 was at the time of the photograph allocated to 9A Longsight shed. It was to remain in service until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from 12A Kingmoor Shed in Carlisle to be scrapped by J McWilliams of Shettleston. Built by BR to an LMS design, HG Ivatt's No 41211, allocated to Nuneaton at the time of the photograph, was built by Crewe works in August 1948 and remained in service September 1966 when it was withdrawn from 8K Bank Hall shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Great Bridge.
