Close up of image 'lnwrrm3172' showing the path and steps which were adjacent to the bidirectional engine line and the offices situated on the site of the second station. Stephen Weston of the LNWR Society and Parliamentary Trains writes. 'The offices on the right is the old MCR/MR station building! How ironic that this survived from 1840 to the 1960s.' The steps led down to Murray Road, which passed beneath the station, and provided a shortcut to the shed and enginemen's hostel. The two men are not identifiable to John who would welcome the chance to put names to faces and especially being able to meet up with former mates. Please use our guest book to contact us.
