Ex-LMS 6P 4-6-0 Royal Scot Class No 46115 'Scots Guardsman' is seen shunting Rugby's goods yard in 1963. The driver at the controls is Rugby's Harry Norton. Initially designed by Sir Henry Fowler, No 46115 was built by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1927 and received its name the following year. The locomotive was rebuilt in 1947 and fitted with a new tapered type 2A boiler and painted in LMS 1946-style black livery. It was the first of the rebuilt locomotives to be fitted with smoke deflectors and was the only class member to run with them as an LMS engine. In this form No 46115 ran in service, having been renumbered by British Railways in 1948, until it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed in Carlisle in 1965.
