Ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48637 is seen in steam inside of Rugby's No 2 shed which had been built in 1878. The innovation of providing smoke troughs was a great improvement according to the Rugby Advertiser on 2nd March 1878. Constructed from timber and suspended the full length over each of the twelve sets of rails, they were susceptible to damage caused by the sulphurous environment. Built as LMS No 8637 by the Southern Railway's Brighton works in September 1943, No 48637 remained in service until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from 10D Lockstock Hall shed.
