British Railways Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 No 70044 'Earl Haig' heads a down Type 3 Freight service through the station on 13th August 1964. This Britannia class locomotive was built by Crewe works in June 1953, No 70044 was to remain in service until October 1966 when it was with from 9B Stockport Edgeley shed to be scrapped by TW Ward of Beighton.
