LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

LNWR 2-4-0 Improved Precedent class 864 'Pilot' stands at Nuneaton station with a down local stopping service circa 1900. Built in original Precedent Class form at Crewe works in May 1877, No 864 was rebuilt as a in June 1896 and was to remain in service until June 1927 when it was withdrawn without receiving its allocated LMS number of 5063. Note the station sign behind the locomotive giving the station name as Nuneaton Junction. The sign also requests passengers to change here for all stations using the Leamington and Ashby branches.
