An unidentified 0-4-0 Diesel locomotive shunts in the sidings adjacent to Nuneaton No 1 Signal Cabin. The photographer is standing at the top of the subway which connected Wheat Street with Oaston Road. Once there was a level crossing at this point which was operated by a 'Livock' style crossing keeper's house.
