LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 4-6-2 Coronation class No 46227 'Duchess of Devenshire' is seen at the head of the up Royal Scot express service as it passes opposite Nuneaton shed on 8th August 1953. Built at Crewe works in streamlined form in June 1938 No 46227 remained in service until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from Polmadie shed in Glasgow to be scrapped in November 1963 at Crewe works.
