LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Looking towards Rugby station from under Leicester Road bridge showing the signals that controlled access to Nuneaton station. To the left can be seen the tender of an ex-LNWR 0-8-0 with a train of cattle trucks behind. According to Peter Lee in his book on the Trent Valley line, the large building in the centre was originally a 'steam ribbon factory' and later a furniture depository. The building to the right had disappeared by the 1950s whilst the ribbon factory burnt down in the 1960s. The signal box is Nuneaton No 1 Signal Box seen in image 'lnwrns1670'. C1933
