LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LNWR 4-6-0 Claughton class No 5999 'Vindictive' is seen approaching Nuneaton at speed at the head of a down express. Built as LNWR No 13 at Crewe in July 1922 it was renumbered as No 2430 by the LNWR in October 1922, received its LMS number in March 1927, remaining as such until June 1937 when it was withdrawn from service to be scrapped at Crewe works.
