Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Patriot class No 45548 'Lytham St Annes' is seen at the head of a class K pick up working as it passes platform five on its way in to the up marshalling yard circa 1961-2. Built at Crewe works in April 1934 it received its name in December 1937 and remained in service until June 1962, a few months after this photograph was taken, and was retired from service at Nuneaton shed to be scrapped in October 1962 by Crewe works.
