LMS Route: Leamington to Weedon
Napton & Stockton Station: lnwrn&s4382
Looking towards Marton Junction from the down platform with
the up platform on the right. Note the point rodding and cables running between
the platform face and rail. There are two sets, one heading towards, under and
beyond the bridge to operate the points and signals at the far end. The points
were effectively a three way point, one turnout going into the single road
siding and the other two serving both platforms. The other set of rodding went
to the points and two signals at the Daventry end of the station. One of two
signals was located at the end of the up platform and controlled traffic
entering the single line section to Flecknoe. The other was on the opposite
side and sited a little further towards Daventry. It controlled access to the
station and the next section. It was a taller structure to aid siting for the
drivers who had to contend with a bridge approaching the station.
