LMS Route: Leamington to Weedon

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 5MT No 44833 is seen at the head of a RCTS Grafton Railtour east of Napton & Stockton station after the line had closed to passenger services on 9th August 1959. Above the train's reporting number the locomotive displays the RCTS' logo on the smokebox door whilst the passenger coaches are of Eastern Region origin. Built at Crewe works in August 1944 No 44833 remained in service until September 1967 when it was withdrawn from Crewe South shed to be scrapped in March 1968 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
