Close up of the closed station's island platform building which accommodated the main passenger facilities

Close up of image 'lnwrml3085' showing the closed station's island platform building which accommodated the main passenger facilities. Since its closure in 1958, the canopy which covered the platform on both sides of the building, has been mostly removed leaving only the main roof trusses which supported the roof structure and part of the central roof structure located above the building. The remaining central portion is open on the sides but the angle of the original canopy structure can still be determined by the slope of the roof. It is assumed that the former passenger accommodation was being used as storage facilities, hence it not being demolished at the time of the station's closure.
