British Railways Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No 92216 pilots ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44772 on 5th August 1965. The 2-10-0 is carrying a single lamp over the right buffer indicating its a Type 9 working which was designated by British Railways as a 'Branch train or stopping freight train and Officers' Special train or ballast train requiring to stop in section. Maximum speed 35 mph. Where fitted vehicles are required to be placed next to the engine and coupled up, this will be shown in the appropriate regional train loading instructions.' Built by Swindon works in December 1959, No 92216 was to remain in service until October 1965 when it was withdrawn from 86E Severn Tunnel Junction shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Newport.
