An view of the other side of the Inspector's hut showing the entrance door and its location alongside the main Coventry to Nuneaton line on 17th Feb 1956. On either side of the doorway are fire buckets normally filled with sand and ready to be placed on any embers ejected from the chimneys of passing steam locomotives. Track side fires were a common occurrence in the days of steam railways and the author remembers the fire brigade being called out to extinguish many a field set on fire.
