View looking towards Coventry from the up platform of Hampton in Arden station showing the passenger waiting rooms on both platforms. In addition to the steps at the Birmingham end of the platforms which led directly to the station building on the road bridge were two pathways that ran from the bridge down to both platforms. The pathway for the up platform can be seen marked with a 'Way Out' sign in British Railways' London Midland Region corporate livery of Maroon background with straw lettering. Lighting on the platforms was provided by gas which is why the posts have two short arms on either side of the post in order to rest the end of the ladder. Each night and every morning the station porter would be required to manually lite and extinguish each lamp.
