Looking from the passenger footbridge towards Hagley Road showing a near empty goods yard in June 1950. The goods shed, and probably the adjacent building too, were built of brick with a blue slate roof cantilevered on both sides of the building. The left hand side of the goods shed was the loading and unloading dock for road vehicles. These would draw alongside the building to be loaded. On the right of the building is where the railway vehicles would be unloaded and loaded and a loading gauge can be seen hanging down to ensure that open wagons were not filled to an extent that they would foul structures and trains when in transit. The single siding on the left was used by the coal merchants and can be seen occupied in image 'lnwrh2204'. On the left in the foreground the weighbridge and office can be seen.
