LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Lichfield

Gravelly Hill Station: lnwrgh2664

Looking towards Birmingham from the Lichfield end of Gravelly Hill station's down platform circa 1900. The signs on both the up and down platform read Wait Here For Third Class on local stopping trains. At the other end of the platforms a similar sign advised passengers where the First Class carriages stopped - see 'lnwrgh58c'. The waiting rooms seen on the up platform in image 'lnwrgh2665' and others, are just to the right of the up platform's sign and therefore out of sight.
