Ex-LNWR 0-8-0 G2 No 1012 is seen passing through Great Barr on an up goods service circa 1923. Designed by H Beames, No 1012 was built by Crewe works in October 1922 to be renumbered by the LMS as No 9446 in June 1925 and by British Railways as 49446 in September 1948. After 41 years of service, No 1012 was withdrawn from 21C Bushbury shed in April 1964 to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Great Bridge.
