A LNWR electric parcels trolley being used to transfer packing cases of seed potatoes on 25th September 1928. In the background are a number of goods shed staff watching what is clearly a posed photograph. Richard Foster notes that 'the sack has Midland Railway markings', some 5 years after the company was absorbed by the LMS which perhaps shows the life span of such material. Richard adds 'the railway companies undertook a considerable trade in the hire of sacks'. The photographer is looking across the top of the warehouse with Curzon Street in the distance and the sidings on the right out of view.
