Looking towards Rugby along the up platform during the
construction of the new station and Stoney Road bridge circa 1960. The new
Stoney Road bridge was built on the cant and a little distance towards Rugby
with steel girders carrying a concrete bridge. The new bridge can be seen above
supported on temporary scaffolding and when complete the current bridge will be
demolished. A temporary four-doll gantry has been built to replace the signals
which will be lost by the removal of the old bridge. On the track can be seen a
buffer stop protecting the down through line now occupied by some of the
scaffolding and dwarf signals either side of the up through line.
