LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton

LMS 6P 4-6-0 Rebuilt Patriot class No 5529 'Sir Herbert Walker KCB' on a down express enters the station circa 1947. Rebuilt at Crewe Works in April 1933 from a LNWR Claughton class locomotive it was further rebuilt in June 1947 upon expiry of its parallel boiler to carry the new tapered boiler as the rebuilt Royal Scot class. Following nationalisation in January 1948 No 45529 was given the new name 'Stephenson' which it carried until February 1964 when it was withdrawn from Annesley shed to be scrapped the following month at Crewe works.
