LMS 7P Royal Scot class No 6136 'The Border Regiment' on an up express passes through the station circa 1947. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1927 it remained in service until April 1964 when it was withdrawn from Upperby shed in Carlisle for scrapping in April 1964 at Crewe works.
