BR Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0 No 73019 pauses between duties whilst working on an Civil Engineers trip at Birmingham New Street Station in demolition on 26th May 1964. The locomotive is standing at Platform 9, the old bidirectional Platform 5, with the footbridge being above and behind. The building being demolished on the left incorporated the Station Street entrance with the fish sidings being located on the other side at Platform 11. Built by Derby works in October 1951, No 73019 remained in service until January 1967 when it was withdrawn from 9K Bolton shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Newport.
