View looking West along Platform 7 with Queens Drive being to the right and New Street No 4 Signal Box standing at the end of the opposite platform. This Platform was formerly No 4 when operated by the Midland Railway and the building seen on the right accommodated the Ladies First Class and General Waiting Rooms with shared toilet facilities. To the right of the steps and this side of the footbridge was the former LNWR Booking Office with its Midland equivalent on the opposite side. Further down the platform was the Midland Refreshment Room seen in image 'lnwrbns_str1859c' and the Gentlemen's First Class and General Waiting Rooms and Gentlemen's Toilet seen in image 'lnwrbns_str417'. On the right is a train indicator board with its arm displaying 'Derby, Sheffield, Leeds and Bradford' as the destinations. C1953
