LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No 1155 is seen stopped at signals by New Street No 5 Signal Cabin after passing under Hill Street bridge as a light engine. Behind and under Navigation Street bridge is an unidentified LMS 4F 0-6-0 locomotive shunting carriages from the up Back Line into Platform 2, whilst the unidentified ex-LNWR 0-6-2T Coal Tank engine on the right is standing on the down Back Line. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in September 1925 No 1155 remained in service until February 1957 when it was withdrawn from Stranraer shed to be scrapped during March 1957 by Kilmarnock works.
