British Railways Type 2 'Bo-Bo' D5071 stands in Birmingham
New Street station with a Norwich bound cross-country service in 1960. Built by
Derby works in February 1960 it was immediately allocated to March shed. Later
classified under TOPS as a Class 24 diesel-electric locomotive, it was
renumbered by BR in April 1974 as 24071 which it carried until August 1975 when
it was withdrawn from service to be scrapped by Doncaster works.
