Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 No 935 is seen standing at the West end of Platform 9 on the 2pm to stopping train to Worcester on 27th June 1949

Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 No 935 is seen standing at the West end of Platform 9 on the 2pm stopping train to Worcester on 27th June 1949. To the left is former Midland Railway 2P 4-4-0 No 511, a 483 class locomotive, built by Sharp Stewart in November 1899 which remained in service until January 1961 when it was withdrawn from Toton shed to be scrapped in October 1961 by A loom of Spondon near Derby. The Fowler Compound was built at Derby works in September 1932 No 935 was to remain in service until April 1958 when it was withdrawn from Bournville shed to be scrapped in April 1958 by Crewe works.
