LMS Route: Rugby to Leamington Spa (Avenue)

Looking towards Rugby from the Leamington end of the down platform shortly after the goods yard had been lifted. Whilst clean the station has an air of neglect and was closed within a few years of the photograph being taken. Preston and Powell Hendry state in their book LMS Stations Volume One that 'had the line been built a decade earlier, lavish decoration on the buildings might have been expected, but the LNWR was an early advocate of economical styles'.
