LMS 4-6-0 No 6100 'Royal Scot', the first of the class, is depicted here in charge of an Up express just south of Tamworth. This locomotive would for expediency sake, swap identities with No 6152 'The King's Dragoon Guardsman' prior to the USA tour in 1933, the change of identity never being reversed. As depicted here, No 6100 was built by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1927 and would be withdrawn in rebuilt form with tapered 2A boiler in April 1965 as No 46152 from Kingmoor shed to be scrapped.
