View of the layout of Tamworth's High Level Midland station and the LNWR's Low Level stations including connecting spur. On the bottom left is the Tamworth tall Pump House a favourite backdrop to many photographers. Tamworth No 1 Signal Box in shown opposite the Pump House which was taken out of service when Multi Aspect Signalling was introduced with Tamworth No 2 Signal Box (seen on the right by the junction to the goods yard) being the sole box in control of the station. The goods yard includes a loading dock, shed, weigh bridge and stables. The Dock by the down slow line was installed from the opening of the line and was used for the loading and unloading of road vehicles. In the goods yard adjacent to the siding which ran alongside the shed there was a floor mounted hand-operated 3 ton crane which would be used to off-load containers, large timbers etc.
