The footbridge for passengers to cross the Trent Valley line was located alongside the bridge carrying the Midland Railway over the LNWR line. The growth in popularity of bicycles - the working man's only means of transport from the early 1900s to the mid 1950s - is confirmed by the existence of the Cycle Store sign on the right.
