Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Rebuilt Royal Scot No 46122 'Royal Ulster Rifleman' on the Up service of 'The Mancunian' on 30th August 1956. Built as LMS No 6122 in its original parallel boiler form by the North British Locomotive Company in November 1927, It was renumbered by British Railways as No 46122 in April 1948 and remained as such until October 1964 when it was withdrawn from Upperby shed in Carlisle to be scrapped. 'The Mancunian' was a titled or named service established by the LMS in 1927 and it ran between Manchester London Road and Euston station. Other than during Second World War hostilities, it continued until 1966 when it British Railways ceased the service.
